Prof. Chi-hsiu D. Weng, Ph.D., creator of Tai-chi Monkey System, has combined ancient Tai-chi movements and principles with modern aerobic fitness methods to create Cardio Tai-chi, a new holistic approach to overall fitness. The sequence of movements covered in the Cardio Tai-chi routine is based on a simple story about the Tai-chi Bird that is easy to follow and offers enough variety to keep viewers interested. The routine has been designed with the busy viewer in mind to provide a well-rounded, challenging aerobic workout in a relatively short space of time (approx. 30 minutes) that also teaches fundamental Tai-chi movements. Additional material on the self-defense applications of the movements is also included.
