Description
Chen Taijiquan: Lao Jia Yi Lu & Straight Sword by Master Ren Guang-Yi & Lou Reed Master Ren Guang-Yi has worked tirelessly to bring Chen style Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) to the West since 1991. In this DVD, he beautifully demonstrates the fundamental Chen-style 75 movement form, Lao Jia Yi Lu (Old Frame 1st Road), and the 49 movement Straight Sword form. Captured in high-definition (HD) in New Yorks Central Park, each form is presented from multiple angles. Each form is also shown in FlipperVision,™ a slideshow comprised of nearly 2,000 photos by famed photographer Martin von Haselberg, so you may carefully study each of Master Rens postures in detail. At age 16, Master Ren Guang-Yi moved to Chen Village, the origin of Chen Taijiquan, where he trained daily for 10 years. In 1991, Master Ren founded the International Chen Style Taijiquan Association to promote the teaching and practice of Taijiquan, offering group and private classes in America. A martial artist since the 1980s, Lou Reed has experienced first-hand the health benefits and power of Master Rens teaching, and he has done a great deal to help raise awareness of Chen Taiji worldwide. This program features a soundtrack and narration by Lou Reed throughout. "The music gives you energy" - Lou Reed.
